Rugby News

Monday, October 11th, 2010

Scarlets are having a pretty good season so far. George North is really coming into his own and showing what an injection of young blood in a team can do. George is going out with our daughter in Jazz and can list ‘washer upper in The Carreg’ on his CV!

The second picture is our nephew, Tom (Top Row, Last but one from right) and his team ready for action! But it is a few years before he washes up at The Carreg yet!

Stand By Me

Monday, October 11th, 2010

Last week it would have been John Lennon’s birthday. I have always admired his work before his untimely death and his love of early Rock’n'Roll is obvious in his music, especially when he covered Ben E King’s classic, Stand By Me. I think that The Beatles are as big a brand name worldwide as Microsoaft and Coca Cola with their influence reaching far and wide.

The brand name of The Carreg will be changing shortly, to better provide a service more in line with what people require in these changing times. We have purchased the domain name ‘live life simply’ and we will operate The Carreg, I dream of surfing, Boutique Suites, Eco eco, Tranqullity Garden, Pink Ribbon and the forthcoming Carreg Organic Holidays under the same banner. There will be an adjustment process so please ‘stand by me’ whilst these essential changes happen.

Have a fabulous week.

Narberth Food Festival 2010

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Over the weekend we celebrated Narberth Food Festival throughout the town. It was magical! The whole town came alive with colour and tastes just as we are going in to the quiet part of the year. To celebrate Tom and Muff’s fantastic participation in the events, we drew some lovely art on the pavement!

This year as we go into the winter season, we will now close on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the week, making Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday that extra bit special. Tom and Muff will be putting their time to good use, by making some extra yummy homemade cakes and pastries for desserts. Keep an eye out for our new winter menu coming soon!

Quiksilver Women’s Ambassador

Monday, September 6th, 2010

‘Ruth Carruthers, 24, is originally from the highlands of Scotland but currently lives in Glasgow, where she is doing a pretty good job of combining her love of nature, art, fashion and telling stories with words and pictures. As a kid, she spent most of her days outside, and she was always a bit of a water baby, but it wasn’t until she took a trip to the Caribbean in 2005 and saw first hand the destructive presence that humans are having on coral reefs that she knew what her mission was – that was the point of no return for her. Since then, she’s developed a passion for explaining green issues in a creative way and published her own environmental magazine last year. She has also been writing environmentally based articles for a variety of publications and websites, illustrating her work with her own pictures when possible, and has recently been appointed Environmental Correspondent for Huck magazine’s website. Ruth is passionate about marine conservation in particular, and works closely with NGOs and conservation charities to promote their work within the media. Ruth loves the eco friendly women’s range of Quiksilver and would love to see more people wearing it!’

If you read this blog on a regular basis, you will know Ruth is a Carreg friend, so the fact that she is now a Women’s Ambassador for Quiksilver clothing is a fantastic achievement! Ruth is a supporter of our new ‘Carreg Organic Holidays’ project and our ‘eco-eco philisophy’.

You can support, view and purchase Quiksilver’s new range at Wendy’s surf shop, Idos, across the road from The Carreg.

Happy 18th Birthday Erin!

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Last night we had a really fun time. Long time Carregular, Erin celebrated her 18th Birthday by taking over the entire restaurant, Courtyard and Tranquillity Garden and wearing her favourite Spiderman dress! She looked fantastic, the food was fantastic, the marquee was fantastic, the place was fantastic. Fantastic four times? Maybe a Fantastic Four dress would have worked too!

There is no party like a Carreg party! If you want to know more about events at The carreg, please ring us on 01834 862990 or e-mail us on info@livelifesimply.co.uk.

Have a fantastic Bank holiday weekend! We will be open mostly all of it! :)

Autumn/Winter Nights at The Carreg

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Summer is almost over and the nights are already drawing in.

In order to keep everyone happy and smiley throughout the cold winter months, we will sometimes have parties, theme nights, music, special offers and exclusive promotions at The Carreg. If you are thinking of visiting us over the winter, please leave your details in the comment box below and we can make sure you are invited.

If you break The Carreg like you would a stick of rock, it would have Excellence running through it. If, for any reason, you think this hasn’t been achieved, please tell us so. Either by completing a critique card, telephoning and asking for me or by sending an e-mail. Our aim is to have 100% of our clientele 100% each and every experience.

Take Care
